Rock-climbing & zip-lining
The header image for this page shows a young boy zip-lining on a powered, roller coaster style, zip line ride. Not many of these types of powered zip line rides presently exist worldwide, but we think that they represent the future for zip lining in terms of making this thrill ride much more accessible and popular.
For Hollywood Gardens, we propose to combine this type of zip lining experience with rock climbing and bungee jumping, all in one multi-purpose tower facility. It makes perfect sense to utilize the vertical rock wall structure, which will already be 42' in height, as the base for an even taller zip line and bungee jumping tower. The great thing about the powered zip line is that it enables us to have riders start and end the ride at the same tower platform. See rendering of the rock climbing, zip line facility.
Pictured to the left is a Boy Scouts outdoor rock climbing facility. The rock cliff in the background is obviously natural while the climbing walls in the foreground are man-made. The people standing at the base of the rock walls provide a good idea of the scale of the structure.
By implementing this type of rock wall structure along with an overhead powered zip line, we can provide a better setting, a natural setting for both activities.
We prefer to utilize the type of rock wall structure shown here. The appearance is very natural, the shapes are more interesting, and the configuration will allow for a more thrilling zip line ride, taking the riders "zipping" through openings in the rock wall face.
The life-like appearance of these rock wall surfaces is so compelling it will leave climbers imagining they are climbing a real rock cliff face.
